SEPTEMBER 2023 NEWSLETTER

Happy Fall!

It's back to school and back to our regularly scheduled programs.

I'm still processing the data from the SRP Survey for Libraries, but initial figures show over 58,000 participants at 2023 SRP programs! That's already a 16% increase from last year's numbers.

We've got a busy Fall ahead - getting ready for SRP24, lots of professional development, our Transforming Teen Services cohort coming in January (more details soon), and getting back to site visits around the state.

I hope to see lots of folks at the Youth Services monthly meetings this month - and don't forget to start reading for our YS Book Club in October.

Next Title: Super Fake Love Song

by David Yoon

*2023-2024 Land of Enchantment Book Award Nominee

When Sunny Dae–self-proclaimed total nerd–meets Cirrus Soh, he can’t believe how cool and confident she is. So when Cirrus mistakes Sunny’s older brother Gray’s bedroom–with its electric guitars and rock posters–for Sunny’s own, he sort of, kind of, accidentally winds up telling her he’s the front man of a rock band.

Before he knows it, Sunny is knee-deep in the lie. Now there’s only one thing to do: Fake it till you make it.

Get your coffee and join us for an informal discussion about the book and it's appeal to our youth patrons. Come even if you haven't finished the book! Bring ideas of similar books to recommend.
