Father Perkins will hold a bible study in the front of the Parish Hall the third-fourth Sundays of Advent (Dec 11, 18). We will be discussing parables of Jesus that have Advent themes. This Sunday, the Great Banquet. Please join us after you get your coffee and snack for bible study.

We have received 80 pledges as of Monday, December 8^th for a total of $397,610

29 pledges stayed the same totaling $135,220

35 increased their pledge totaling $217,610 with an increase of $27,810

10 decreased their pledge totaling $22,180 with a decrease of $17,960 (making our overall pledge increase total $9,850)

We encourage you to give prayerful thought to your commitments for next year and to render your pledge as soon as possible. That gives the finance committee support and insight as they anticipate our 2023 budget.

You can render your pledge by putting your card in the box in the narthex, mailing it to the office, or emailing Amy (books@christchurchvaldosta.org).

Live-Streaming this week of the 10:00 service on December 11, 2022 will begin at 9:55 a.m. If for any reason we experience Technical difficulties with the Live-streaming, a recording of the service will be uploaded and a link sent to the congregation at a later time.

We plan to livestream the 11:00 Christmas Eve Service beginning with music at 10:30 p.m.

We will not be livestreaming on Christmas Day (December 25th), or New Year's Day (January 1st). Thank you for your understanding as we give our Media Team a much deserved break for the holidays.

As a part of the upgrade of our audio and video equipment, the rear pew on the College Street side has been moved to a temporary location in the annex. Construction has begun on the new media booth where our livestreaming ministry will eventually be located. Please be careful while navigating this area. Thank you for your patience. Dave Clark Build for the Cure - The home is located at 740 E. Ann Street. Thank you to everyone who has come out to help with the build.

Financial support is still needed as we close down the site. Anything will help.

The dedication for the house is scheduled for December 10^th beginning at 10 a.m. Help us celebrate the "Habitat Home for Christmas" with the family on December 10th. Please try to carpool from the Church as there is not much side street parking available at the house.

Bishop Logue and Canon Lasch remain available to answer any questions about the transition process. You can reach out to them through the diocesan office by phone (912-236-4279) or by email (bishop@gaepiscopal.org or llasch@gaepiscopal.org) to set up a time to speak either on the phone, via Zoom, or in person. A number of you responded to Bishop Logue's invitation previously, and he wants to keep that invitation open to you.

Our annual Sounds of the Season Recital will be held on Sunday, December 18th at 3:00 p.m. The recital will feature festive organ music, and heavenly harp music.

Garden Guild will meet Monday, December 12^th and Wednesday, December 14^th beginning at 10:00 a.m. We will meet under the Dave Clark Cook Shelter. We will take a break for Christmas and begin again the 2nd week of January. We will focus on the rectory grounds then. Many thanks to all of the hardworking people who help to clean up our church campus. More hardworking people are welcome to join us. Bring your gloves and tools.

Children’s Church will not meet on December 11^th. Hope to see the Children age 3 – 5^th grade next week to meet Keri Wilkin in the Children’s Classroom in Gabard. (This is the first classroom on the left in the preschool hallway.)

The Stitchers of Love are now meeting twice a month on the first and third Sundays in the Parish Hall from 4 to 6 p.m. All are welcome. We will teach anyone who is interested in learning to knit or crochet. The next meeting is December 18th.

Tuesday Night Bible Study

The Tuesday night Bible study led by Willa Valencia will be held on December 13th, from 7:30 to 8:30 pm at the home of Ron and Tammy Borders on Williams Street. All adults are welcome. Please bring your Bible—any translation.

H,E.P. Lunch Group - Save the date and time HEP (Happy Episcopal People) lunch group. Friday, Dec 16 at noon, John and Marcia McRae's home - 2701 Green Meadow Dr. Host are serving up chili, both vegan and chicken. Please bring your favorite chili side dish or a dessert to share. Requested to RSVP to 229-220-5619. Great time to share low key evangelism by bringing a friend or another member. Next lunch group will be Feb.17.

Please mark your calendars - We will not have Vespers on December 25th or January 1st.

Sunday Evening Vespers - a group of Christ Church members meet on Zoom (2nd, 4th and 5th Sundays) at 6:00 p.m. to read the Compline Service, pages 127-135 in the Book of Common Prayer and for friendly conversation afterwards. The first and third Sundays of the month we will meet in-person, but will make an audio recording available after Vespers for those unable to attend in-person. To join the group and receive the link to the weekly gathering, contact Phyllis Hiers or call 229-563-2464.

Donations for the 2022 tax year can be dropped off at the church office before December 22nd, or in the offering plate on December 24th or December 25th at the 10:00 a.m. worship service. The Church Office will be closed from December 26th - January 2nd. Donations may be dropped in the drop-box on the College Street office door after 12/22, or mailed to the church office.
