NO ONE GETS THERE ALONE 

This year, Elevacation took on a new identity as we launched our first ever four-week summer camp. Focused on exposing students to new opportunities through adventure, we had a total of 30 student participants. From boat rides to college tours, honey bees and water parks, our Elevaters got a chance to do it all. It was a summer to remember. Click the video for a brief recap.

WELCOME WEEK 

Boat Ride - Freedom Boat Club

We kicked off Welcome Week with some fun in the sun. Students enjoyed being out on the water, learning about the history of Savannah's  intracoastal waterway, crabbing and close encounters with river dolphins. Thanks to Bill Eswine for sharing his expertise on coastal ecology.

JUNETEENTH WEEK 

Day Clean Journey (Tour)

Students enjoyed a historic sightseeing "journey" throughout downtown Savannah led by Dr. Jamal Toure'. They learned about significant landmarks and how each contributed to "a new day." The tour began at the Haitian Memorial Monument and ended on River Street.

SAFARI WEEK

Savannah Bee Company

Elevaters spent some time up close and personal with local honey bees. They learned about the important role that honey bees play in the ecosystem and the process of making honey. It was a sweet treat.

FUN & FITNESS WEEK

Serving at Frank Callen Boys & Girls Club

Students were excited to help out at FCBGC. They assisted and participated in Field Day. It was a rewarding experience for them as they got a chance to exercise their leadership skills with the younger students.
