SLA Virtual Speaker Series is Monday, May 16, 12:00 noon

"What Can SLA Do for You and Your Library?"


The Saskatchewan Library Association will present "What Can SLA Do for You and Your Library?" on May 16th over the noon hour. Panelists Regan Gunningham, Brad Doerksen and Leslie Charlton will discuss the many ways SLA works to advance library services in Saskatchewan. The panel will cover how involvement with SLA can provide Board experience and career-enhancing skills, an overview of the grants and bursaries available to SLA members, opportunities provided by the annual Saskatchewan Libraries Conference and more! The discussion will be followed by a time for Q&A.

All are welcome to attend this free event and registration is required.

20th SaskEnergy Willow Awards Gala is June 1, 2022


You are invited to attend the 20th SaskEnergy Willow Awards Gala on June 1st at 11:00 am via Zoom. The Willow Awards gives three awards every year to children’s authors based on votes from Saskatchewan children and youth. The votes have now been cast, and the winners will be announced at this event.

Grants Available for SLA Children's Summer Performer Tours 


SLA is offering ten grants of up to $300 for member libraries to hire performers or storytellers to offer children’s summer programming. These grants may be used for either in-person or virtual performances. 


Applications MUST BE RECEIVED by June 6, 2022 to be considered.

Tanya Talaga: Reconciliation and Our Shared Future

Join award-winning journalist and author of Seven Fallen Feathers and All Our Relations, Tanya Talaga, as she speaks about finding the path forward for truth and reconciliation. Tanya's talk will be followed by a reception where you can enjoy bannock and dainties from The Sioux Chef, and access to the exhibits We Are All Treaty People and HOME: Life on the Anthropocene.
