Neely Johnston - Softball pitcher proud of teammates who "showed up for each other”
From Stratford, Prince Edward Island, Neely chose King’s because she had been told about our excellent criminology and sociology programs. (Neely will be applying to criminology for her second year.)
Neely became a King’s student-athlete and the pitcher for the Western Mustangs’ softball team, which won the silver medal in the 2023 Ontario University Softball (OUS) Provincial championships in Paris, Ontario. Neely is proud of the team, saying they “fought hard in many games, where everyone had to give effort and energy. We all showed up for each other when we needed to.”
Being a King’s student-athlete has allowed Neely to meet many people both at King’s and on the Western campus. “I get to interact with lots of people from different backgrounds and it has made me open a lot more as a person,” Neely says.
