A MESSAGE FROM THE MAYOR
On February 27, 2024, the emergency outdoor warning siren sounded in the Village of Hainesville. Today, many people are asking what exactly does that siren mean? The answer is, it indicates an emergency exists and that you should remain indoors and seek more information from your phone, computers, tv or radio. In our area, the most common situation that causes the siren to be activated is a tornado warning, NOT a tornado watch. Also, our area does not sound an ALL-CLEAR siren.

9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with Sunday, April 21st as the rain date. A pizza party will follow for all participants.

We will meet at Tall Oak Drive and Hainesville Road at 9:00 a.m. We will supply latex gloves, visible vests, trash bags and water.

We will be cleaning along Hainesville Road, around Cranberry Lake, Hainesville Meadow and along parts of Route 120, depending upon the number of volunteers.

If there is another part of the village you prefer to clean up, we will supply the gloves, vests (if we have enough), bags and water. Just meet us, pick up your supplies and away you go!

Hope you can join us!
PREPARING FOR HOME IMPROVEMENTS?
As we near the Spring Season, are you looking to make improvements to your home? Be sure that you obtain the proper permits for your projects. Click HERE for some of the projects that require a permit. If you are unsure if a permit is required and do not see it on the list, please contact the Village Hall. Failure to secure the proper permitting could result in fines, being required to remove or uninstall a project, or cause issues with insurance companies down the road. A permit is there to protect you!

FOOD SCRAP RECYCLING COMES TO HAINESVILLE
You can now recycle your food scraps in your yard waste containers at no extra charge. Groot will pick up the food scraps and yard waste beginning April 1st and ending November 30th. It is best if you use your yard waste container with a lid to keep the animals from getting at it.
The size limit is 33 gallons or 50 lbs.
Another suggestion is to keep the scraps in the freezer till garbage day.
There is no restriction of what food to put in, bones and all.
If you want an indoor pail for this purpose (which will have to be emptied into the yard waste container), let me know. SWALCO is selling them. I’ll post the price once it is established,
and I will deliver it to you.
