Message from the Director

As the fall semester comes to an end, the Office of Information Technology and its campus IT partners compiled some pro tips to help you and your students get ready for finals week.

Before Finals Week

Finals Week

  • Give students some flexibility since this is their first finals week using MFA. If they forget their device or have other login issues, they should contact the IT Help Desk.
  • Take a break to order food from Grubhub using RebelCash. Get free delivery and other perks for adding UNLV to your Grubhub account.

After Finals Week

  • In WebCampus, finalize grades, copy course content to a new course shell, and preserve Panopto videos and Webex recordings that you would like to use next semester. Webex recordings expire after 180 days.
  • Refresh yourself on the grade submission process. View the entering grades video for instructions on how to submit final grades in MyUNLV. Remember that grades are due to the Office of the Registrar by 4pm on Tuesday, December 20th.

If you or your students have questions, contact the IT Help Desk for assistance.

Best wishes,

Melissa Bowles-Terry

Faculty Center Director

News You Can Use

Panopto Video Retention Process to be Implemented December 21

Effective Wednesday, December 21, UNLV will be implementing a content retention process for Panopto video recordings to more effectively manage our allocated storage space for Panopto.

Video recordings that have not been viewed, edited, or accessed will be archived after two years and then permanently deleted after two additional years if not viewed, edited, accessed, or retrieved from archived status.

  • Archived Videos: Once archived, videos may still be retrieved for another two years.
  • Permanent Deletion: After four years since their last viewing, editing, or accessing, videos will be permanently deleted and will not be recoverable.

Videos that have been viewed or edited within the past two years will remain in active storage and immediately available for viewing.

For additional details, including how to find and view your archived videos and alternative storage solutions, review the Archived Panopto videos support article

If you have any questions about Panopto, please contact the IT Help Desk for assistance.
