Here Comes the Bus! Are You Registered?
The Transportation Department is pleased to announce that Here Comes the Bus (HCTB) is now available at all District schools. HCTB is an easy-to-use website and application that allows parents/guardians to receive notifications on a smartphone, tablet, or personal computer when their student’s bus arrives.

On the go? No problem! This free resource allows you to track your student's bus location anytime, anywhere. REMINDER: Before attempting to sign up for HCTB, all non-ESE student bus riders must be registered to ride the bus.

The District Celebrates National School Counseling Week
During National School Counseling Week, the Palm Beach School Counselor Association's Annual Breakfast honored dedicated school counselors and administrators who work every day to make a difference for students. Congratulations to the School Counselor of the Year honorees and supportive administrators!

It's a Day Full of Excitement, Anticipation, and New School Colors!
Student athletes around the District celebrated National Signing Day on February 7 by signing National Letters of Intent to play sports in college. High schools held events for students to embrace the special moment with family and friends as they officially announced where they will be taking their academic and athletic talents. Congratulations to the students, families, coaches, and schools!

This Week's Thank a Teacher Has a Heart of a Champion
This week’s Thank a Teacher winner knows how to get the most out of her students in the classroom and on the volleyball court. Math teacher and coach, Ms. Erica Green, led the Dr. Joaquín García High School Girls Volleyball team to earn a District Championship during the school's inaugural year!

For always going above and beyond for her students and athletes, Ms. Green has earned a $250 check from HCA Florida Healthcare as this week's Thank a Teacher winner.

If You Can Dream It, You Can Be It - Inspiring Students Throughout Black History Month
Throughout February, the District celebrates Black History Month. On February 8, Grassy Waters Elementary School hosted a special reading event that was out of this world (literally)! The authors of the book, "Bella the Scientist Goes to Outer Space," written by Silvana Spence and her daughters, Bella and Vicky, read to third graders to encourage students to explore STEM and empower young readers to never stop dreaming.

First Artificial Intelligence Course Launches in the District
The future is now! Palm Beach Gardens Community High School has the first artificial intelligence class of its kind in the Palm Beach County School District. Teacher, Anastassia Gritsenko, led the charge to bring the course to the school. Ms. Gritsenko said the curriculum was just approved for this school year, and she attended training with leaders from the University of Florida who developed the course.

"Some people are scared of artificial intelligence, some people embrace but the thing is, it is just a tool," Gritsenko said. "It is like a hammer and we need to learn to use it and what to do with it. Artificial intelligence is already here, it is everywhere and we need to make sure kids know how to use it responsibly and if they decide to go into the field, they need to know how to create responsible artificial intelligence."
