Then the Lord said to Abraham, “Why did Sarah laugh and say, ‘Will I really have a child, now that I am old?’ Is anything too hard for the Lord? I will return to you at the appointed time next year, and Sarah will have a son.”
 - Genesis 18:13-14 -

Sarah laughed. God told her she would have a baby, and she laughed. The thunderous roar of spiteful laughter echoed off the rocks. The mules looked up, they were startled by the woman’s laughter. She hadn’t laughed in a very long time. She was childless, unable to have children. If God was to bless her with a child, now, at the age of ninety, it was, well…. laughable.

God then asked her husband a question. “Why did Sarah laugh?” Oh boy …. God follows up with, “Is anything too hard for the Lord?” It was the mic-dropping moment. Of course, Abraham knew the answer, and so do we.

We wonder “if” God can do something. “If” God can take away our grief. “If” God can heal our body. “If” God can forgive us. “If" God can give us peace. That, well that is just too dang hard. Through fear-filled laughter, we wonder ourselves into doubt.

God utilizes the unique and beautiful talents and minds of women to care for His world and His people. God uses moms, single women, grandma’s, aunts, and sisters to build and care for His nation. Thank you, women of Grace Fellowship, for leading our church family in so many ways. Thank you for leading our families in faith. You are a wonderful example to us all. Thank you Women of God! Bravo!

God said he would build a nation, but to build a nation a mom is required.

SPOILER ALERT! Sarah has a Son, (Just as God Promised), his name is Isaac which means “one who laughs.”

Moms, thank you for your endless commitment to your families and the love you show all of us. This Sunday, Mother’s Day, we will celebrate what God did to build a nation…just as promised.

 I can’t wait!

PS. Missy and Mom, I am very blessed. Happy Mother’s Day!
The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
