Annual Privacy and Security Training - September 2023

Every year, all HMIS Users are required to take a Privacy and Security Training to stay up-to-date on our HMIS policies and practices to keep client data safe! This year, users who were active as of August 1st will need to review an updated FY23-24 training and pass a quiz by September 30th.

The training is now available in our Learning Management System as of September 1st!

*This year all users will also need to pass a FY2024 HUD Data Standards quiz by September 30th in our LMS!

HMIS@NCCEH System Changes

FY2024 Data Standards Changes

Data Standards changes will officially take effect on October 1st!

Changes to Race and Ethnicity, Gender, Health Insurance, Current Living Situation, Exit Destination, and more will be updated. For all the details, check out HUD's FY 2024 HMIS Data Standards Manual.

Join us at the September 12th Systems Updates Meeting & the September 20th Monthly Training where we will take an in-depth look at the Data Standards Changes that will be taking place. Bring your questions to either/both of these!

All users will need to pass a FY2024 HUD Data Standards quiz by September 30th in our LMS to get ready! Users will be recieving a request to reset their passwords in the LMS as a result of the Data Standards changes.

Translation Assistance Needed Survey

With the upcoming Data Standards update, HUD has created a new required data element in HMIS called "Translation Assistance Needed". During intake, users will be able to select the preferred language of a client. We also have the option to choose the preferred languages that will be displayed in our HMIS system.

Using data from the NC Census, the Data Center has compiled a list of the most common languages spoken. As a result, we have developed a survey in order to provide better services to clients who preferred languages other than English.

Please view & submit the Translation Assistance Needed Survey so we can represent your client's preferred languages in HMIS.
