Guernica - oil on canvas, 48 x 60 inches

Travis Shilling’s The Blue Tarp is full of wonder. The collection is formed by more than twenty new oil paintings that extend what is possible through the artist’s insight and engaging decision-making.

TRAVIS SHILLING

The Offering - oil on canvas, 48 x 72 inches

Shilling’s subjects are increasingly present in the current moment. The paintings invite the viewer into prescient visions that draw us under the blue tarp and its unlimited potential. Dreamlike settings are perhaps not dreamlike but more like apparitions and mirror balls. More than ever, Shilling is painting us.

TRAVIS SHILLING

The Marten Planning Supper - oil on canvas, 48 x 48 inches

Iconography of home life is given equal importance with the distant horizons and kaleidoscopic skies of the landscapes. Symbols of our purposeful projects are found throughout the paintings’ clotheslines, kettles, and campfires.
