Homer's Highlights

Now Batting - Ashley!

Meet Ashley, a kind, fun, and compassionate 21-year-old with Down Syndrome who is a familiar face at Miracle League events. Ashley is often accompanied by her 14-year-old brother Max, a dedicated volunteer who adds to the family-like atmosphere of The Miracle. Originally from San Diego, Ashley now resides in Petaluma, attending the Petaluma Transition Program after graduating from Casa Grande in 2020.

A multifaceted individual, Ashley is not just a baseball enthusiast but also a budding performer. She has graced the stage in recitals with the Movement Lab Dance Studio, showcasing her passion for singing and dancing. Beyond the stage, Ashley has taken to the waters, participating in Special Olympics swimming, and found her groove on the baseball field during Miracle League events, where the joy of the game and connections with friends are made evident by her contagious smile.

When not showcasing her talents, Ashley enjoys outings to her favorite store, Target, indulging in treats at Yogurtland, and hitting the bowling alley with friends for a friendly competition. In her downtime, she engages in more relaxed activities such as reading, coloring, solving puzzles, and watching her favorite shows on her iPad. With a penchant for the colors purple and pink, Ashley embraces the festivities of Halloween, often seen in Disney princess costumes while trick-or-treating.

Known for her warm and kind-hearted nature, Ashley is quick to offer compliments on outfits or comforting words to those in need—a characteristic that will most definitely serve her in her aspirations to work in a hospital someday. She has a soft spot for fur babies and little ones, further emphasizing her caring nature.

Guess what else? Along with all those awesome qualities we just shared, word on the street is Ashley's got a talent for knock-knock jokes. Spot her on the field and don't be shy – ask for her top-notch joke! We promise it'll add some extra cheer to your day.
