Thanks to all TEDC members for making yet another fantastic annual Day on the Hill. More than 250 legislators and TEDC members and staff came out for this years' event.

The day's activities were opened with acapella group The Society Singers singing the Star Spangled Banner.

Governor Bill Haslam gave an excellent talk, interacting with the crowd in his charismatic fashion. We also welcomed Tennessee's new Commissioner of Education, Candice McQueen. We were also pleased to hear from Burns Phillips, Commissioner, Tennessee Department of Labor & Workforce Development, and Allen Borden, Assistant Commissioner, Tennessee Department of Economic & Community Development. After an afternoon of visiting with legislators, a reception was held for TEDC members, along with TCCE and ECD members, at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center. This was a great opportunity to spend time with your legislative delegation and to interact with the commissioners.
