Sadly, Damon has passed since the filming of this interview but it was his desire that his journey make a difference for others, so in honor of this amazing you man I share his story with you.

It’s kinda like life, as life if both! The amazing times and the challenging times.
Some of you may have noticed that it is quickly approaching Bowties & Butterflies
season and there has been little information and promotion for this amazing annual event. Admittedly, I was already a bit behind in my time-frame but 3 weeks ago I was
ready to put things into high gear and spend some very focused time on the creation and promotion of our 5th Annual Bowties and Butterflies Blacktie Dinner Gala which is the highlight of my year each year since Zachary passed. Then the phone call came! It was my brother letting me know that our Mother had passed in her sleep the night before.

These are the pauses in life when one has a true appreciation of what really matters. In a
moment all plans change, “important” things aren’t so important and one steps aside from the “to do” list in life and takes care of what really matters.
 
Now a very short month prior to this impactful event I’m pulling things together in high creative mode and asking all of you in my world to take a moment to save your seat, offer a raffle donation,
recommend a sponsor, volunteer to help and share with a friend our important mission and project at Place of Possibility Inc.: Supporting Families with a Child on Hospice and more!

Amanda is a young mother of three who is experiencing one of life's greatest challenges, knowing she will not be here to mother her children as they grow up. Though we mostly support parents with children on hospice, Place of Possibility Inc has a general give fund as well that enables us to support different types of challenges that families face. Hospice reached out to us a short time ago and asked if there was a way for us to support the wish of this young mother, to create lasting memories for her children while she is still here. We stepped up to the plate and did just that. Working together with Lake Mary Life Magazine and some private donors, the family had an amazing experience with all the extras at Disney on Ice. Place of Possibility Inc made a special donation to the family for a memorable dinner night out and some funds for them to choose some personal experiences. I love to share pictures of our recipients however as I have explained before, first and foremost we are here to honor their unique very challenging journeys. Amanda shared that as she now looks in the mirror she no longer sees herself staring back at her. These are not the memories she wants to leave for her children.
