Dear St. David Families,

As we journey through the Lenten season and commence the third trimester, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the significance of this time. The third week of Lent offers us an opportunity to delve deeper into our spiritual practices, reflecting on the themes of repentance, forgiveness, and transformation. It's a time for introspection, a chance to examine our hearts and minds, and to renew our commitment to growth and renewal.

Similarly, the beginning of Trimester 3 marks a fresh start academically, presenting us with new challenges and opportunities for learning and personal development. As we embrace this new phase, let us approach it with enthusiasm, determination, and a sense of purpose.

In the coming weeks, I encourage you to take some time for quiet reflection, to nurture your spiritual well-being, and to support one another in our shared journey of faith and education. Together, may we continue to cultivate a community built on compassion, understanding, and mutual respect.

Thank you for your ongoing support and dedication to our school community. May this season of Lent and the start of Trimester 3 be a source of inspiration and growth for us all.

Yours in faith,

Ms. Medrano

SCIENCE FAIR WINNERS πŸ†

On February 10, 2024, we had 6 students compete at the Diocese of Oakland Kristina Taylor Science Fair. Kristina Taylor was the science teacher at St. Joseph Notre Dame who started the diocesan science fair. I have worked with her and seen the science fair grow from a small project to the enormity it is now. Students who have participated in the Diocesan science fair have gone on to the California State Science Fair and some have found employment as researchers in science labs!

I am pleased to announce that all 6 St. David School students placed within their respective categories. We thank Ms. Murrillo for her dedication and hard work with our students:

Antonio Lenzi - 1st Place

James Doronio - 2nd Place

Aleena Ornelas and Ysela Lopez - 3rd Place

Alejandro Orozco and Dominic Sambrano - 3rd Place

ST. DAVID FEAST DAY

March 1st marks St. David's Feast Day. We celebrated with Mass with our Academic Decathlon team members as our lectors, our 3rd-5th graders as altar servers, and our excellent choir led by Miss McCarthy. Our dedicated teachers planned all sorts of activities for our Faith Families to do together.
