Do you enjoy wrapping Christmas Gifts?
We need at least 20 or more volunteers to skillfully wrap over 300 gifts we have collected for our foster children. We plan to have a HUGE gift wrapping “party” on Tuesday, November 29th in the Life Center. No RSVP is necessary, simply come when you can, and leave when you must between the hours of 9 am and 12 noon.

We will provide all of the colorful wrapping paper, scotch tape, bows, and ribbons. You are merely asked to bring a joyful spirit and your favorite pair of scissors. Your help wrapping all these Christmas gifts will help bring joy to 51 foster families, comprised of 144 children, this holiday season.

If you have questions about this special project Foster Care Christmas project, please contact our Director of Youth Ministries, Tim Buck, by emailing him at Tim@newlifeforall.church or call him at church 941-639-6954 ext 221.

A quick reminder any outstanding Foster Care gifts that you have not yet returned must be dropped off this Sunday morning, Nov. 27th. Bins for these gifts are located outside Tim Buck's office (Life Center Room 6).

Thanks in advance for your help and support of the Foster Children of Charlotte County.

Advent Bible Study
Pastor Earl Smith will offer a four week Bible Study helping to prepare our hearts and minds for Christmas. It will be held each Wednesday in the sanctuary from 9:30 – 11:00 AM. He will begin the study the week following Thanksgiving. Those dates include November 30 and December 7, 14, 28.

Hurricane Ian has disrupted our lives in many ways but the calendar continues to march forward. As it does we continue to do cleanup, all the while trying to get some sense of order and routine back into our lives. But we also know that each year between Thanksgiving and the New Year life can get hectic and very non-routine! Therefore, we need a time in the midst of that to pause and reflect upon the reason for the Christmas season. Especially this year, we don’t want the hustle and bustle of the holiday to become too crazy. After all, it is more than a holiday. It is a Holy Day! Therefore, let’s gather together in midweek Bible study to focus our spirits on this most Holy of events.

Rediscover the gift of Advent that comes without packages, ribbons, and bows. We don’t know why the Grinch hated Christmas. We just know he did. In this new Advent study, Matt Rawle explores the faith themes in the Christmas classic, How the Grinch Stole Christmas! including, how did the Grinch’s heart grow three sizes come Christmas morning? How did Christmas save the Grinch? Could it be that the very thing we think we hate is the one thing that changes our lives? This Advent and Christmas season, look at a familiar classic through the lens of faith and see how Christ speaks to us through our culture.
With intrigue, thoughtfulness, and humor Pastor Earl will help lead our focus in that very direction. No need to sign up or pre-register – just show up!

Books are available!
The cost is $10 each and only 1 is needed for each household. You can get your book from Pastor Earl on Sunday, between both services, out by the gazebo, weather permitting. (inside Lenox Hall if it’s raining)

A Word from Worship
Greetings New Life Church friends and family --

In only a couple of days we will be celebrating a day set aside a day to give thanks. Thanks for so many things, and yet this year, many continue to suffer the consequences of Hurricane Ian. Insurance claims, repair estimates, phone and computer problems , etc etc are still daily topics of conversation - and I imagine will be for some time into the future. I've had the opportunity to talk with and pray with friends and it's obvious and understandable that it's a time of overwhelming stress and frustration.

Times like these, which are extreme in that it affects so many of us at the same time, make me think about all the times in our lives when we are faced with challenges of different kinds. Sometimes it's health crises, relationship problems or losses of any kind. I was one who lived in anxiety that something would go wrong all the time. What a gift it was when I began reading His word and discovered that Jesus suffered just like we do. He understands what we're going through and knows exactly what we need. For 33 years he felt everything we feel: he felt weak and tired, and was afraid of failure. I'm sure he got colds and headaches and even felt lonely at times. Because he faced all these human things, he understands our weaknesses and is with us always. Matthew 28:20 tells "I am with you always, to the very end of the age".  At this special time of Thanksgiving, it's an opportunity to think about all the wonderful things God has done for me this year. Something that helps me to focus is to make a list, and while I never remember all my blessings, I remember enough to humble me and fill me with gratitude.. I am blessed by you, my church family, for your prayers whenever needed. It is a gift when I ask for help with decorating Christmas trees and so many showed up that in one short hour, the trees were bright and beautiful! Thank you!

It's time to get ready for Christmas Eve services; there are 2 contemporary services at Gilchrist Park at 12 and 3pm.  We have 2 Traditional services in the Life Center building at 6pm and 8pm.  We'll need many volunteers to help usher and greet for each of those worship services.  Please text me at: 941-661-4156 or email me to let me know when you can help.  Please take this opportunity to bless others by serving. "All must give as they are able, according to the blessings given to them by the Lord your God"
Deuteronomy 16:17
Have a Happy Thanksgiving weekend filled with beautiful blessings.
I'm praying for you!

Rosie Young
Worship Coordinator

Join us for a time of honor and remembrance at our Blue Christmas Service, December 18 at 4pm.

There will be a 15 minute program of special music before the service. All are invited to attend.
