BACK-TO-SCHOOL LETTER
2023-2024
Dear Lancer Nation,
I hope you are all enjoying your summer! We have been busy this summer getting ready for the 2023-2024 school year.
Our school theme for the 23/24 school year is “CONNECTED”. This is based on John 15:1-5 which is most known for the vine & the branches. We can’t wait to begin this school year and find all the different ways we are “CONNECTED” as the family of Christ.
The first day of school is on August 16, 2023. Childcare opens at 6:30am, students can be dropped off at the southwest corner by the basketball hoops between 8:15-8:30. Students need to be in their seats by 8:40am.
Meet The Teacher Night: August 14, 2023 from 6:30-7:30pm. The meeting will start in gym. Students can bring their supplies, set up their locker, meet new families and meet their teacher. We will also cover “Points of Emphasis” in regards to policies and procedures for the new school year. While you are at Meet the Teacher Night, you can drop off any forms for the office, make lunch payments, or anything else you need.
Teacher Assignments: A lot of work is being done in regards to class assignments as enrollment finalizes. We are excited to welcome many new families as well as all of our returning friends. With lower numbers in kindergarten and sixth grade I will be doing my part to help with teaching responsibilities. As of today, I will be the 5th/6th grade homeroom teacher for the morning. The afternoon arrangements will depend on God providing more students to Lancer Nation.
Please know that enormous amounts of time and energy goes into utilizing the best staffing that God provides.

Go to https://online.factsmgt.com/signin/42CTR to access FACTS. This is Immanuel’s online tuition management and enrollment system. We will work on including childcare and lunch payments through this system in the near future.
Sycamore Education: ONLINE
Sycamore Education is Immanuel’s Student Information System(SIS). Sycamore can be accessed on our website: https://app.sycamoreschool.com/index.php?schoolid=4062 Username & PW will be emailed to the email address provided via FACTS. Explore Sycamore for grades, documents, lunch, childcare/lunch balance and more.

This is our weekly newsletter that is emailed every weekend of the school year. NOTE: It is crucial that you receive and read this newsletter every week. This weekly e-publication is the only consistent way we communicate our most important information.

Medical Information: ONLINE or IN OFFICE
Please provide our office with current immunization records before the first day of school. State law mandates that we deny attendance for any student without current records. Please see this link for more detailed information: Health Exam Requirements. Note: If you are new to IL you must submit all health requirements.

Childcare: Payment in Advance
Childcare can be paid for a week in advance in the office, by mail, or in either of the 2 drop boxes located in the preschool entry hallway or by the main office. A survey will be sent in the Lancer Ledger prior to school breaks to determine interest and the ability to offer care.
Lunch: ORDERING
Lunch count is taken at the beginning of the day and must be done before 9:00am. There may be days when a cold lunch is required. Lunch choices can be made via Sycamore Education prior to arriving at school. If you make lunch selections via Sycamore please inform your student so they are aware of the selection that was made.
Parking Lot: SAFETY
It is very important that safety is the Lancer Nation top priority. When dropping off or picking up please do not rush and follow the proper procedures. If someone new is dropping off or picking up, please discuss the procedures with them ahead of time. Your patience will make everything run more smoothly and timely.
Back-to-School Bash: ON SITE
Join us on August 23 at 5:30 as we celebrate the new school year with a meal and fellowship.
Fundraising: Discount Cards Coming Soon
While we do not require fundraisers we strongly encourage them as a way to support the school. We hope that the students love their school and want to help it improve just as we work to help them improve. We start the year with a community favorite, discount cards. Thanks to the hard work of Mrs. Alderks and to many businesses in the community we are able to provide these. They are well worth it.
That is a lot and there will be a lot more to come as we make this an incredible year.
