"Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet God feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?  Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?" ~Matthew 6:26-27

Special Message from the Pastors

Prayers for the LGBTQ and Allies Community

of Colorado Springs

November 25, 2022

As we pause between Thanksgiving and the first Sunday in Advent, let us take a moment to lift up our sisters and brothers in Colorado Springs, with this prayer:

“God, as people of love and faith, we are horrified by the terrible loss of life and loved ones in Colorado Springs this past week. We lift up the victims and their families, we lift up those who are injured. We lift up the LGBTQ and Allies community of Colorado Springs, and the community that thought it was safe to be at Club Q that night.

Thank you for heroes who intervened and saved lives.

God, in your mercy, be with Pike’s Peak Metropolitan Community Church, their pastor, Alycia Erickson, and all the people they serve.

We pray that we will be resolved to do whatever it takes to overcome the public health scourge of gun violence, and of homophobia and transphobia.

Bless all who are, even now, reaching out to those who are hurting and afraid."

In the name of Love and Justice, and in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Advent and Christmas

Worship Series: November 27 through New Year, January 1

“Reflecting the Sacred”

This year, as we approach Christmas, we will gather to see the holy in all that has been and always will be – right here – reflected in everyone and everything around us. Based on the writings of Fr. Richard Rohr, each Sunday, and Christmas Eve, will be a time to soften our focus and blur the hard edges of our lives.

We will be hearing from our choir and drummers, special guests and instrumentalists, in a full, joyful program that reflects this sacred season.

More than ever, we need to open our hearts to see our lives as a reflection of God’s mysterious presence in Jesus.

at 10 AM for

In-Person or Virtual Worship

This Sunday we begin our new worship series for Advent, “Reflecting the Sacred.”

We will read Matthew 24:36-44, as Jesus warns the disciples to stay awake, and to be prepared for what God is about to do.

Advent is an opportunity to reflect God’s very being. This Sunday, we ask, “What Time is it?” For people of faith, it is Time for Hope, a time out for us, to pray, reflect, to become spiritually awake to God.

Are you in need of some hope? Some spiritual time out to be centered in God and community? See you Sunday!

SunCoast MCC Stewardship Month

Our SunCoast MCC Stewardship Team is excited and hopes to engage with you as we celebrate SunCoast MCC’s impact on our community in this past year.

We are thinking “Out of the Box” about what “stewardship” means. For us, it means stretching ourselves to give generously to SunCoast MCC, because our church is engaging with a community that needs us more than ever these days!

Sometimes we take for granted, or don’t get to hear enough about, the value of SunCoast MCC to our  members, families, friends and wider community.

God is with us, blessing us and using us in surprising and grace-filled ways.

If you have never given regularly to SunCoast MCC, now is a great time to begin.

Use the link below to read some of the stories on how we have impacted the community and complete an electronic estimated giving card.

THE ARTS AS SPIRITUAL PRACTICE – INSPIRATION THROUGH MANIFESTATION

You are invited to participate and take away what may benefit you in a conversation with artist Terrence Joyce as he shares the creative process of transposing the message of a profound mystical Inspiration into artistic form.

The artist discloses the guiding principles and practices gifted to him for this aspiration by many generous seekers encountered within the spiritual and artistic communities his journey has led him through.

From wisdoms learned in a monastic Catholic seminary thru the turbulent and transformative Bohemian community of Greenwich Village and SOHO in the 1960’s and 1970’s, to the close friendship with an Indian saint and his disciples at their United Nations Peace Meditation mission the practices disclosed are both practical as well as secret and sacred.

God is our refuge and strength."
