Let's Check Out New Developments:
New Panel, New Goals to Help Shape NJ Age-Friendly Work
New Jersey’s Age-Friendly State Advisory Council officially begins its work in March. The council is one of several new steps being taken as New Jersey’s local and state leaders join forces to make the Garden State more livable for people of all ages.

Another notable development is the Department of Human Services' five-year Strategic Plan on Aging. It prioritizes promoting “age-friendly best practices across the state” as one of 7 key goals.

Authored by Colleen Diskin. Special thanks to Dr. Emily Greenfield and Cheryl Ricci-Francione for their contributions.
Let's Recap
Our New Leaders series continued on February 9 and focused on strategies for moving from assessment data to action planning to impact.
A panel of experienced age-friendly leaders from Age-Friendly Englewood, Generations For Garfield, and Age-Friendly Teaneck shared lessons learned from their data journeys. Panelists gave advice to leaders at all stages of their age-friendly community development, such as how to assemble the right team and how to leverage multiple data sources to maximize impact.
