Join us for our weekly meetings at Fogo De Chao in the Town Center.

The salad bar offers many vegetarian and gluten-free options. A protein is served every other week and alternates between steak, pork, and chicken.

PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

This week's meeting was energized with the enthusiasm of Bob Ohrablo, President of the Jacksonville Icemen. We learned about all the teams that his ownership group, Zoyer Team Sports, manages, as well as heard about all the amenities at the newly renovated Igloo.

The Icemen finished second in the league last season but are very proud of this being from the toughest region in the country. They had 44 wins and ended with 93 points in the standings.

Zoyer just recently signed a new contract for a partnership with the Buffalo Sabres and the Rochester Americans as the feeder teams for the Icemen.

The Icemen exceeded all past sales and opened the Community First Igloo in March 2023. Ice skating immediately went up 25% in Jacksonville, and E-Sports is the fastest growing category in the country.

Orablo's focus is of course on the business-side of the teams, but also wants to work on developing local children to enjoy ice skating. Many are threatened to play on ice skates, and he wants to overcome that.

Zoyer Sports also owns the Savannah Ghost Pirates and operates the Atlanta Gladiators. They just launched a new team in Lake Tahoe, the first of any sports team in that area.

He invited all of SBMC to come out and check out some games, as well as bringing our families to enjoy the new Igloo and amenities.

MEMBERSHIP SPONSORHIP CONTEST

We are pleased to announce our 2023 Member Sponsorship Contest, where you have the chance to win cash prizes while helping our civic club grow. Join us in this exciting opportunity to expand our reach and make a positive impact on our community.

Here are the key details of the contest:

1. Contest Duration:

The contest will run from Wednesday, May 17th, until October 31st. The winners will be announced at the November 1st meeting.

2. Cash Prizes:

There are two cash prizes up for grabs:

a) Most New Members Sponsored:

The member who sponsors the highest number of new members will win $300. To qualify for this prize, a minimum of 3 new members must be sponsored. Corporate sponsorships will be counted as one new member.

b) Cash Drawing:

With each new member who joins during the contest period, the sponsor will receive a ticket for a chance to win $500 in our cash drawing. Sponsor 2 members? Earn 2 tickets. Sponsor 3 members? Earn 3 tickets. For every new corporate member who joins, the sponsor will receive 2 chances to win. The more members you sponsor, the higher your chances of winning the cash prize!

3. Qualification Criteria:

New members must submit their membership applications with first-year dues paid in advance before October 31st for sponsor is eligible for the cash prizes.

SBMC BOWL-A-THON

New date! The Bowl-A-Thon will now be held on August 19!

The Golf Course was designed by Master Golf Course Architect Bobby Weed who is well known for projects such as Grove XXIII (owned by Michael Jordan), The Olde Farm Golf Club, Medalist Golf Club, and Ponte Vedra Inn and Club. The Golf Course will open for play in late 2022. The 7,000+ yard layout boasts forgiving fairways and a playable Florida landscape which provides a fair challenge from any set of tees. The natural terrain and championship conditions make Stillwater Golf and Country Club an incredible place to enjoy a round.
