Ashland Common is a vibrant community-designed park being constructed on the corner of E. 14th Street and 166th Avenue. The project is a collaboration between the Hayward Area Recreation & Park District (HARD) and the Trust for Public Land, and the result of a property swap between Alameda County and HARD.

The 0.88-acre lot will provide a recreational experience for the entire community. Construction on the fully-funded $7.45 million project began in 2022 and will include a public plaza, interactive water feature, playground, outdoor stage, picnic area, and mosaic artwork.

HARD is currently four months into their 12 month construction period, with project completion anticipated for spring of 2024.
