Engineer and Outer Marker Co-Founder Doug Fearn remarked, “People have traditionally viewed High Res and DSD as being appropriate only for classical or jazz recordings. And while it’s certainly well suited for those styles, we see that the clarity of DSD enhances any genre, even high impact music like this. We let our ears decide what sounds best in any recording situation.”
With a genre-bending history that has ranged from acoustic ballads to EDM, the Mayo twins bring a vast palette of musical influences to the table. After working with a cross-section of more traditional bands, the brothers decided in 2022 to return to their punk and artistic roots and established Disaster Artist as a two-piece performance art endeavor. The continually evolving Art Punk duo now arms themselves with bass, drums and microphones to take on the musical battlefield.
“The idea was to capture the moment, to make the listener feel like they were standing right next to the band at a show,” added Jo and Chris Mayo. “The folks at Outer Marker were the perfect team to capture this sound accurately.”
