2025 Crop Enterprise Budgets Review

Author: Breana Watkins, University of Arkansas Division of Ag, Instructor

The 2025 Crop Enterprise Budgets are now available here. Savings seen in fuel and fertilizer costs from 2024 to 2025 have been more than offset by losses seen in the price of commodities. At the time of publication, future contracted soybeans averaged $9.50/bu, delivery November 2025.

A contracted price for November 2024 delivery averaged $12.70/bu. At an average yield of 60 bushels per acre, your net revenue would be expected to decrease by $192 per acre. With net farm revenue expected to decline by 25%, even a modest 10% increase in overall operating costs can wreak havoc for the financial stability of an operation.

Being modest in spending while not sacrificing quality and quantity of harvest will again be key to success. The table below gives a snapshot of one of the 2025 rice enterprise budgets available on the website.
