STEEL BAND CONCERT

On Friday, January 19th, which was a cold and dank night, tropical sounds played by the Muñiz Academy Steel Band, came floating out from the auditorium and warmed the hearts of the listeners. New to the school this year, the Steel Band shared their newly learned infectious rhythms with the audience and nearly got them dancing.

ANNUAL WINTER BAND CONCERT

On Tuesday night, January 23rd another cold and dank night, over 150 students turned out in their fine-looking black concert attire to play their hearts out for an SRO crowd of over 600 parents and friends in the auditorium of the Roland Hayes Music School. Their music and enthusiasm were matched by the warm and receptive audience. For some students, for whom this was their first performance, this was an awesome feat that they never had believed they could accomplish. Now, they are committed brass or percussion enthusiasts.

CHESS CLUB GEARS UP

Muniz Academy has a group of Chess enthusiasts that want to grow their ranks and become really good, strong and competitive. That, of course, means more time for playing. Now with the formation of the Chess club, we can look forward to tournaments and champions!
