Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy
is a nonsurgical treatment that involves injecting and / or micro-needling Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) into the hair or skin. The PRP is extracted from your own blood and contains growth factors, or the cell-signaling proteins that orchestrate the body’s tissue rejuvenation and healing systems. PRP can be used to stimulate hair follicles and thus restore healthier hair and can also be used with micro-needling to stimulate collagen and elastin production. Some studies suggest that PRP may help increase stem cell proliferation to aid in healing.

PRP Hair Restoration Therapy is considered a safe and less invasive alternative treatment option than hair transplant surgery, and it can stimulate sleepy hair follicles and slow the rate of hair loss. It may even help regrow hair.
During a PRP hair restoration procedure, the provider draws blood from the patient and separates the platelets from the red blood cells, processing them to concentrate the growth factors.
PRP increases blood flow to the hair follicles when injected into the scalp. It can stimulate some new hair growth (though not in every patient), and lengthens the anagen (active) growth phase of existing hair, to slow hair loss.
A series of three treatments every 6 – 8 weeks is required for best results, after which, one to two treatments per year are needed to maintain the results. As each patient is unique, our expert injectors will work with you to develop a treatment plan.

Meet Nicole Breting,
Our Newest Medical Aesthetic Injector
|
|
Nicole is a board-certified family nurse practitioner and Medical Aesthetic Injector with eight years' clinical experience.
She earned her Master’s degree with the specialty of Family Nurse Practitioner from Regis College and her Bachelors of Nursing from Endicott College.
She brings a distinct blend of medical experience to the team. Her past roles have included inpatient orthopedic care, and emergency and trauma surgery at Rhode Island and Miriam Hospitals. Her attention to detail, quick thinking, commitment to safety and her passion for helping people led her to achieve Aesthetic Nurse Practitioner Injector. However, Nicole's true passion has always been medical aesthetics.
Nicole strives to create individualized aesthetic treatment plans that enhance a patient's existing beauty, not drastically change it. Her goal is to deliver a natural and refreshed look that keeps her patients a step ahead of the aging process.
Nicole takes pride in honing her skills through ongoing training and development. She reviews the most up to date clinical studies and attends regular trainings. In addition, she educates fellow staff on trends, techniques and safety information.
Nicole is also a Rhode Island native. While not at FAC, she enjoys time with her family, playing tennis and going to the beach. We are thrilled to have her as a part of the team.
