APPLY FOR FUNDING FOR FURC 2025 | |
The Florida Undergraduate Research Conference (FURC) is one of the largest multi-disciplinary research conferences in the country. Students attending FURC will have the opportunity to showcase their own research and connect with students conducting research at other Florida institutions. The conference will also offer workshops and a graduate school fair.
Students can apply to present at FURC 2025 by submitting their USF FURC application by December 2nd.
Funding to present at FURC is also available.
The cost of travel (charter bus), accommodations, the registration fee, and meals (outside of refreshments provided by the conference) will be covered by the CRE for students selected for travel funding. CRE will provide poster printing as needed for the selected students.
Students must submit BOTH the USF FURC application and the CRE FURC Funding application to be eligible for travel funding.
The CRE travel funding application is due December 1st.
The application to present at FURC 2025 at USF is due December 2nd.

ATTEND THE GLOBAL SCHOLARS SHOWCASE |
The CRE will be hosting the Global Scholars Showcase in the Nancy H. Marcus Great Hall (the 4th floor auditorium in the HSF Building) from 3-5pm on Friday, December 6th. Refreshments will be provided, and please feel free to come and go as you please. The event is a poster presentation, and the students will be eager to talk to you about their experiences.

IDEA GRANT WRITING WORKSHOPS |
Join us to learn about the process of applying for an IDEA Grant. You will be able to draft your application with other individuals attending the workshops. All workshops will be held in room 3008 of the Honors, Scholars, and Fellows House.

ACC Meeting of the Minds 2025 application are now open!
Sponsored by the Center for Undergraduate Research and Academic Engagement with funding from the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC), this award covers all conference costs for students selected to present their research at the annual ACC Meeting of the Minds Undergraduate Research Conference. This year, the 2025 ACC Meeting of the Minds will take place at the University of Pittsburgh (Pittsburgh, PA) on March 28-30, 2025.
All majors are eligible to apply. Selected participants will have all travel expenses covered, including plane, hotel, and food. Students can present their original, student-directed and faculty-mentored research or creative project as an oral presentation or poster presentation. Honors in the Major students and those conducting more advanced, independent research are especially encouraged to apply. (Note: this application requires one letter of recommendation from the student's faculty mentor.)

APPLY FOR ARTS AND SCIENCES FUNDING | |
The College of Arts and Sciences and the Division of Undergraduate Studies supports conference presentation funding through the administration of these grants. Undergraduate students from all College of Arts and Sciences disciplines are encouraged to apply.
Undergraduate students may apply for up to $500 to cover costs for conferences in their discipline (or a related discipline). Both virtual and in-person conferences are eligible for funding.
Rolling deadline, though you must submit this application at least 6 weeks prior to the conference at which you will be presenting (though, you may need to submit this earlier to ensure registration by conference deadline). You will need to upload an itemized list of expenses as part of this application.

Sophia Jusino is an IDEA Grant recipient and president of the Art Society at FSU. During her time at FSU, Jusino has developed research and several art projects to raise awareness about the dangers of overconsumption and consumer culture.
Her work with the Art Society at FSU has allowed her to share resources about the Department of Art. She takes pride in giving FSU students an opportunity to engage with the community through their art.

Tyler Fellow, Kieran Stenson, engages in the FSU community by serving as a mentor for incoming freshmen and conducting research. Stenson is an IDEA Grant recipient and an Engage 100 leader. He finds joy in supporting students and guiding them to research opportunities.
Kieran received the Tyler Center for Global Studies Research Award. His project, which continued his Honors in the Major research on the same topic, focused on the Polish Constitution of 3 May 1791, which was the first modern written constitution in Europe, and the second in the world, after the American Constitution.

Angelina Dobbs, an IDEA grant recipient and Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program (UROP) student, uses her undergraduate research efforts to educate others about how women participated in Enlightenment ideas in the 18th century. Dobbs seeks to provide engaging and accessible course material for future students to enjoy via her podcast about Italian women’s sociability.
In tandem with her research, Dobbs has participated in the Women’s Leadership Institute and strives to create a welcoming and empowering space for women in academia.
