All members of the church are encouraged to attend to welcome our new members. There will be a formal invitation sent out soon.

Opportunity for Outreach
A woman in Bedminster is living with food insecurity, but she is unable to drive to a food pantry to get food. Is anyone able to drive her once a week to get food from one of the local food pantries? Please contact Father Rob for more information.
Global Outreach Ministry to Liberia
The Episcopal Diocese of New Jersey is encouraging Churches to participate in the Global Outreach Ministry to Liberia. Currently, the Ministry has embarked on a project, co-sponsored by the Episcopal Diocese of New Jersey, called “Empowering the Liberian Church and People Through Outreach.” This Ministry seeks to provide material and relief assistance that will help to rebuild and empower the Episcopal Church of Liberia, its schools and institutions, and other needy Liberians. Target beneficiaries include, but are not limited to the most vulnerable, under-served, and marginalized children, low-income women, students, orphans, the elderly, the lame/cripple, the blind, churches, clergy, seminaries, colleges, schools, etc.

Former slaves from the United States founded Liberia in the early 1800s. It is a constitutional democracy with a capitalist economy. The Episcopal Church of Liberia was established by the American Episcopal Church in 1836 and was a missionary district of that church until 1982 when it joined the Church of the Province of West Africa. Currently, there is a Covenant relationship between The Episcopal Church USA and the Episcopal Church of Liberia.

Shoe Collection
St. Martin’s Outreach Committee had determined earlier this year to do a shoe collection to aid Soles4Souls. However, due to the Bishop’s request that we participate in this Global Ministry, Outreach has decided to collect new and used shoes from now until June 19th for this Ministry. Shoes, of all sizes, male and female, are one of the requested items by the Global Ministry. They can be dress or casual, flip-flops, tennis shoes, etc. In addition, they are collecting new socks. If shoes have laces, please tie the pair together with the laces. If there are buckles, please buckle the two shoes together. All other pairs can be placed in bags (1, 2, or 3 pairs per bag). There is a bin at the back of the narthex. If you have many pairs, please contact Kathy Shanklin or Marlene Ficzko and they will make arrangements to pick up your shoes.

Thank you to all our donors and would-be donors. Your donations will help improve the lives of Liberians, in both church and state. And remember to ask any family members or friends if they have shoes to donate.
