Just starting the drive back from our 2024 Masterson Method Certified Practitioner (MMCP) Equine annual educational conference in Cave Creek, AZ.
There were plenty of horses there, but as with all equine facilities, there were dogs in attendance. Whenever the facility manager let her three giant Schnauzers out, they high-tailed it (pun intended) over to say "hello". Of course, a conference full of MMCP Equine bodyworkers could not keep their hands off of the dogs.

It just comes natural to look for the blink. Once you learn this, it’s almost impossible to keep your hands off a dog, horse, cat, cow, you-name-it. It’s one of those things that once you see it, you can’t un-see it. This includes me.
Here Ritter and I start with petting at the front and end up searching for responses and releasing tension at the back. His idea, not mine. Once your dog starts feeling how it works, he can’t un-feel it. Just the way it goes.
We were able to do some exploring in the hills around Cave Creek while here and will be heading back to Fairfield tomorrow.

Once back home, we’ll probably find Jupiter and Timmy Two Too just as we left them; keeping busy showing each other who’s the boss. I have to say that when things get a little too rowdy and Timmy lets out a claw or two, then he’s the boss! | |

Back to the business at hand (pun not intended). We are excited that the Read and Release classes are filling quickly – with only two seats open. Don’t worry if you are not registered yet because new courses will be added soon. The course calendar will change regularly as we add new courses, so check back often.
More exciting news… Our publisher, Trafalgar Square books, tells us that in the first five months since the Beyond Dog Massage book has been released, over 4,000 books have been sold. We are currently in our second printing. It’s gratifying to know that there are more and more happy dogs (and owners) out there!
