Revised Rural Grant Applicant Toolkit


USDOT has revised its Rural Grant Applicant Toolkit for Competitive Federal Transportation Funding to help potential applicants identify and navigate discretionary grant opportunities for rural transportation projects.


The toolkit provides an overview of key activities in the federal discretionary grants process, as well as resources to help rural applicants maximize their potential for award success.

Safety Prediction Model for HOV Lanes


NCHRP's "Safety Prediction Model for Freeway Facilities with High Occupancy Lanes" provides a safety prediction methodology specifically for freeway facilities with high occupancy lanes.


This predictive method applies to crashes occurring on both freeway general purpose lanes and HOV lanes combined, and offers a stand-alone approach that uses one-direction models for freeway segments, entrance speed-change lanes, and exit speed-change lanes.
