Special e-News from Epiphany Parish

From Rev Christen

Dear Epiphany Parish,

This special email is to let you know that the painting has started at the Church and Parish House! Both buildings have already been power washed and the work has begun on the Parish House. The colors are going to stay the same and some carpentry work will need to be done to repair some places where the wood has been damaged. We also will be replacing the boiler in the Parish House sometime this summer as that is quickly reaching the end of its useful life.

In order to pay for this essential work, the Vestry has approved an application for a loan from our diocese for $57,600. We will withdraw the full amount from our endowment upfront to pay for the work that is being done, and if we received this loan, we will use the money to repay our endowment funds and pay the diocese back over the next 15 years.
Thank you so much to the Vestry, the Finance Committee, our Junior Warden John Robinson, and our past Junior Warden Mark Helm for their work getting this project off the ground. This has been in the works for a long, long time!

I also wanted to thank everyone who stayed after church on Sunday to help weed and clean up our property! We got most of the weeds pulled along both sides of the church building, we trimmed some of our overgrown trees, we cleaned up the garden near the front sign, and we washed the electric sign along West Street. We got a lot done but there is still more to do. Please see below about some ways that you can volunteer to help make our church property look great!

Peace in Christ,
Christen

Composting Help Needed!
Do you have access to the town compost site on Robbins Road? We need volunteers to help pick up the branches and weeds at the church and bring them to the compost site which is open on Wednesday and Saturday mornings. The branches are mostly bagged up and in a pile at the front of the church building. If you have a compost sticker and some time, please swing by and take some branches to the town compost site!

Gazebo Clean-up Help Needed!
One big project that we weren’t able to get to on Sunday is the Gazebo. It needs to be weeded and many of the plants need to be trimmed/pruned. If you are able to spend some time in the next few weeks working on the Gazebo, please email office.epiphany@verizon.net to let us know when you will be coming. If you want to garden when other people will be here, if you let us know we will try to help coordinate!
