politics of Israel to the sharp rise of antisemitism in Connecticut and the U.S.

I was happy to see so many of our local lawmakers at the briefing, and happier still to hear some solution-based discussions.

I think nearly all conversations about antisemitism are tinged with anger, frustration and bewilderment -- as they should be. And, nearly all conversations that include Israel are complicated, as one this one. Clearly, we have a long way to go, and I hope we continue these conversations - often.

We congratulate President יצחק הרצוג - Isaac Herzog for his speech to Congress this week that reflected the partnership and the deep connection between Israel and the United States.

President Herzog, who served as Chairman of The Jewish Agency before his election as president, expressed the central values of the State of Israel as a Jewish, democratic, free and liberal state.

Led by our Chairman Major General (res.) Doron Almog, we are proud to be at the forefront of efforts to connect and bring the Jewish people together, through our thousands of Shlichim (emissaries) who serve throughout the United States and around the world.

JAFI Chairman of the Board of Governors Mark Wilf was present at the exciting event yesterday, along with senior representatives of the organization and the Board of Governors.
