JAG-K staff met in Olathe in late July for four days of training and preparation for the upcoming school year. More than 125 staff, including 23 new career specialists, participated in the orientation, team building and professional development activities.
The conference featured training sessions with employers including Garmin, Kohls and the U.S. Marines, as well as with WorkforceONE. A keynote address by JAG-K board member Kevin Like and presentation of numerous awards highlighted the event.
"Good training is essential to effectively executing the JAG model. The annual training event not only teaches our staff how to deliver the core competencies of the program, it is also an opportunity to reinforce our culture," JAG-K President and CEO Chuck Knapp said. "We are excited to welcome new staff, strengthen bonds within the organization, and get better at helping students prepare for successful futures."
