The HandsOn team is SO thankful to have hosted Becca for her year of service as our VISTA Leader. Becca wanted to share some advice with anyone interested in AmeriCorps programs as she gears up for her next journey:

"For anyone debating doing a year of national service - do it! My years in the HandsOn VISTA program have taught me so much, not only about the non-profit sector, but about myself as well. I've gotten to create wonderful memories at volunteer projects I will take with me throughout the rest of my life. It’s truly been an honor to serve and I wish the current VISTA team nothing but the best!"

A big thank you to our corporate volunteers from Collins Aerospace, The Home Depot, American Express, Digital Building Components, and DPR Construction, and a very special shout out to Avnet for participating in Serve-A-Thon for all 30 years!

These hardworking volunteers transformed three local Title I schools, renovated a community garden, and cleaned up a local park for Earth Day. Murals were painted, picnic benches were built, staff lounges were made over, trash was cleaned up, gardens were weeded, and much more.

In a single day, we can make a world of difference.
