2022 SAR Food Drive
Collects $12K+ for 2nd Harvest
The results of the 2022 SAR Fun Food Fight were announced at this week's annual membership meeting.

Event Chair Judy Flemmer (photo, center), together with 2022 SAR President Eric Etzel (photo, left), was happy to present a check in the amount of $12,801.64 to 2nd Harvest.

This amount becomes 64,008 meals when converted to a real-world impact.

THANK YOU to all who participated in this year's food drive - the association can only be generous with its community engagement if members are generous behind the cause!
Brokers at several Spokane-area brokerages challenged each other to give the most money to the SAR food drive this year - and the winner is EXIT Real Estate Professionals!

Managing Broker Sabrina Jones-Schroeder accepts the annual plaque (photo, left) from Event Chair Judy Flemmer (photo, right) for contributing $3,175 to this year's association food drive.

Congratulations to Sabrina and her team - a big thank you to them and all brokers who participated in the challenge!
Cash donations matter more than ever since the collection of physical food donations ended during the pandemic and will, likely, not be coming back.

Spokane housing sales cool

County records 33.4% decrease in homes sold last month compared with 2021; fewer bidding wars
Spokane County’s housing market continued to cool off in October as inflation and elevated mortgage rates prompted buyers to pause their home purchases.

In the county, 487 single-family homes and condos on less than 1 acre sold in October, a 33.4% decrease compared with 731 homes in October 2021, according to the Spokane Association of Realtors.

The local housing market hasn’t seen a year-over-year sales percentage drop that significant since July 2010 when 347 homes sold, a 35.5% decrease compared with 538 homes sold in July 2009, according to Realtors Association data.
Special Report from the November 14, 2022 Board of Directors Meeting
The National Association of REALTORS® Board of Directors voted to replace the term "handicap" with "disability" in Article 10 of the Code of Ethics, in the Standards of Practice, and in corresponding NAR references to protected classes under fair housing law.

This change to the Code was subsequently approved by the NAR Delegate Body and will go into effect January 1, 2023.

A Formula for Creating
Short Marketing Videos
You undoubtedly know the power of video marketing, considering that YouTube is the number two search engine.

But maybe you don’t feel comfortable in front of the camera, so you’ve avoided trying your hand at creating videos.
The purpose of video is to connect with clients more personally and enable them to get a better glimpse of who you are, Robert Kennedy III (pictured), a national speaker with Kennetik Kommunications, told attendees at a session during NAR NXT, The REALTOR® Experience in Orlando, Florida.

Kennedy said a simple storytelling approach can help calm your fears around what to say and how to structure your videos.
This foolproof method for crafting storytelling videos can build deeper connections with your clients or prospects.
