You know winter is upon us when you’ve had the fire going now for the past couple of weeks, like I have! To top that off, I’m currently in isolation with COVID, despite having dodged it till now, even when my wife had it a few months ago.
Congratulations to the new Australian Government.
Our landscape repair and rehydration work has always received bipartisan support, so we look forward to being able to brief the new ministers on our projects and their importance to meeting Australia’s climate challenge.

A powerful, collaborative workshop connecting and sharing knowledge of landscape rehydration and cultural awareness has been held between the Mulloon Institute and Back to Country.

The 2019-2020 Aquatic Macroinvertebrates Survey is now complete. The science team has also been compiling historical hydrological data for the DataStream system and working on cross section surveys for stream gauges.

On the farms we’ve had a continuation of the extremely wet weather driven by the extended La Niña and negative Indian Ocean Dipole events. As a result, conditions in the paddocks have been quite poor for livestock and staff alike.

Rebuilding threatened frog habitat

Thanks to a NSW Government grant, we're rebuilding habitat for the Green and Golden Bell Frog by reconnecting the Molonglo River with its adjacent floodplain.

Landscape rehydration restores biophysical processes which have been disrupted or degraded due to anthropogenic impacts. Find out what we've been busy doing at various locations in ACT and NSW.

Staff visited WA earlier this year, a literature review is underway of landscape rehydration works in WA, on-ground works underway in Boyup Brook, and the final three properties have been chosen for the WA Community Stewardship grant!

The Queensland team are working hard to complete projects across the dry tropics. Two projects will have machines on the ground over the next few months to help deliver transformative landscape rehydration measures to northern landscapes.

Trialling curriculum
A saturated catchment and persistent rain have proven to be the best training environment for trialling some of the technical modules of our Advanced Landscape Rehydration Curriculum with our staff!

Finally, as winter commences and we approach the end of the financial year, please consider supporting our internationally recognised environmental work.
Donating $50 or more towards our National Rehydration Initiative, will help our education team continue developing landscape rehydration our curriculum so it can be rolled out across Australia, to farmers in different climates and bioregions.
Huge thanks for the very generous support of individuals and philanthropic organisations whose donations currently made our work possible!
Cheers,
