WRL adds Flagtronics for 2024+

WRL is excited to announce that Flagtronics has been selected as the exclusive provider of in-car flagging, driver ID and compliance devices for the 2024 season and beyond! WRL has been closely tracking developements in this space and has been working closely with Flagtronics to bring this next-generation technology to our endurance racing events with features specifically designed to enrich our series. The features and benefits of this system closely align with our goals and will allow us to leverage it's features to make WRL safer, increase performance parity and greatly increase rules enforcement in real-time.

2024 Rules will be released 1/9/2024 to incude Flagtronics-related language relating to install and impelmentation

FLAGTRONICS WILL BE OPTIONAL FOR OUR SEASON OPENER AT EAGLES CANYON RACEWAY

FLAGTRONICS WILL BE REQUIRED FOR ALL PARTICIPANTS BY 3/1/2024.

A limited # of rental units will be available.

Flagtronics FT200 device is a one-time $249.99 investment with no subscription fees. This is OPTIONAL (but HIGHLY recommended) for Eagles Canyon and will be REQUIRED for Barber.

Driver ID bluetooth/wifi device (required for all cars once available, coming soon) is $100.00 with no subscription fees and is a simple add-on to the FT200.

• Deployment of this device will be announced soon - if available this will be OPTIONAL for Barber and REQUIRED for Mid-Ohio and beyond.

Driver ID Helmet Pucks (required for all drivers once available, coming soon) are $25/ea with no subscription fee.

If you already own a FT200 for use in another series a simple firmware update will allow you to use your existing device for WRL competition!

Features and Benefits

The features listed below are either currently active or will be active within the span of the 2024 racing season. WRL will NOT be using Flagtronics for local flagging initially, reserving the in car flagging features for full-course flag states (FCY, red, Code-35, black flag all, etc). Feature development will be ongoing and will likely expand well beyond what is listed below as we find new ways to incorporate this technology.

Safety:

• Full-course flag state alerts (FCY, Red, Code-35, Black-flag-all, etc)
• Incident & Slow Vehicle detection / Reporting
• Impact G-Force reporting to race control to inform response
• Individual car flagging

Compliance:

• Driver ID and drivetime reporting (will feed into timing / broadcast)
• Persistant "black-box" data recording for analysis in real time
• Persistant multi-axis Accelerometer & speed reporting
• Code-35 Enforcement w/ in-car speed feedback to driver
• Pit Speed reporting
• Timing and Scoring backup w/ sector timing & Sector speed
