Aspire Supports Childcare, Small Business at the Statehouse

This year’s assembly is a short session, which also began a week later than usual and is expected to end a week earlier. This condensed calendar means lawmakers won’t have time to move much legislation, and the bills that move will do so quickly. Aspire Johnson County was prepared for this speed and has been busy talking with legislators about childcare, workforce, and small business success.

Aspire Introduces New Board Chair and Directors for 2024

Elected as 2024 board chair is Leeanne Lollar, lead investment advisor for Donaldson Capital Management. The newly elected to Aspire’s Board of Directors in 2024 are business leaders Deana Haworth, CEO of Hirons marketing and advertising, and Kyle Stiens, director of operations for NSK Americas automotive division.

Indiana School Counselor Survey Warns of High Student Ratios, Testing Duties

A recent Indiana School Counselor Survey, with responses from over 270 K-12 counselors, reveals ongoing challenges in addressing students' mental health due to limited counselor time. The report highlights that “non-counseling" tasks like testing and program management consume about a third of counselors’ time.
