JUNE 10 - ART IN THE PARK

Free for NWCA members, Music in the Park is featuring ART IN THE PARK on June 10th from noon-3PM...a Celebration of Colour and Soul. When you come to the park on this day, you may not recognize it. From and green grass haven, the park will be filled with colour and interest from local artisans. For the shy artists amoung us, we are showcasing a spot we like to call the 'not so secret SEEK ART Garden". Those who would like to make an anonymous offering 9Art to be returned at the end of day), you can give to the coordinator some prose to describe your work (inspiration) so that others may walk a trail of art and prose and enjoy your work and be inspired themselves. . A garden of soulful contemplation, you can walk on your own and gather your thoughts or walk with a group and discuss the works. Your choice. There will be live music in 'surprising' places as well as the main stage. We have former members of the Okanagan Symphony Orchestra, Christine Moore lead flutist, Alan Rinehart a classical award winning guitar player, Kelsey Zachary a violin player and her keyboard playing dad and Michael Averill will grace our stage with his easy going, philosophical and inspirational melodies and sound. This is sure to be something the North Westside has never seen...come experience something special.

A Call to Local Westside Artists

A Celebration of Colour and Soul

A don't miss event this summer! Come to the park on this occasion and you will be transported with a flood of colour and personal stories from creative minds and souls.

We are doubling our efforts on this date to bring to the Westside a whole new way of connecting with one another through Music and now Art. Art is a personal way to connect with oneself and others.

We are looking for artists of all abilities to come share their work publicly…and if you are the shy type, please consider making some anonymous contribution(s) to our not so secret SEEK ART Garden….a walking trail of art and prose… a time to reflect with others or walk the trail on your own for some quiet contemplation as local artisans speak to you through their art forms. All Hippie Market vendors are creating an interactive experience for you as well!

Come to Westshore Community Park and listen to easy listening and classical stylings from a variety of renowned BC instrumentalists from noon till 3pm.

A BBQ firing off the classics will be available at reasonable prices.

We welcome you to invite your family and friends to attend all the events this Summer and make memories!

Contact Wendy today to participate and share your creativity!

Kelsey Zachary - 12pm

Christine Moore - 1pm

Alan Rinehart - 1pm

Michael Averill - 2pm

Michael Averill is an adventurous Canadian troubadour who literally strolled 4000 miles of Canada over 7 years. Through well walked Roots, Folk, and Blues, Michael captivates his audiences and invites them to connect deeper within themselves and their communities.

Onstage, Michael’s performance versatility ranges from southern lap steel slide blues, to intricate finger-style folk, to driving shanties about mismatched socks. He combines buttery guitar licks and philosophical wordplay into the perfect blend of silly and sensitive.
