There are many ways we can all observe this important month and help spread awareness for our loved ones.

  • Share your family's story on social media. Get personal about your child's journey and your family's struggles and successes. Your story would not only be educational for people who haven't been exposed to developmental disabilities, but can also help you connect with new people in the community!

  • Help raise funds for your favorite non-profit in the developmental disabilities field. Post on social media about why the organization is important to you. Include a picture of your family to really get the message across!

When you create your post, please use the hashtag #DevelopmentalDisabilitiesAwarenessMonth and tag our Facebook page or LinkedIn page so we can see your post!

"I am so thankful that Clancy & Associates is helping our son Alex, who has Autism and just turned 18.
Clancy & Associates helped us strategize the many steps we needed to take. From a special needs trust to guardianship, and now SSI, Katie and her team made sure we had everything we needed to navigate Alex's transition to adulthood. Thank you to everyone in the firm!”

📰 Legal News
For tax year 2021, the IRS is expanding eligibility for the earned income tax credit (EITC), an important anti-poverty measure that assists those with low-incomes. One key impact of these changes is that more people without children, many of whom are also people with disabilities, will qualify.
Just about everyone with Down syndrome (DS) will begin developing Alzheimer’s starting at about age 40, making it the leading cause of death for the 200,000 or so people with DS in the U.S. But this dire prognosis is getting little attention.
