Doctors get chance to report late on use of COVID-19 relief funds: “Due largely to AMA and specialty society advocacy, the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) has decided to reopen reporting for physicians who got more than $10,000 in COVID-19 assistance from the Provider Relief Fund before July 1, 2020, known as 'Period 1.' ” - AMA
Moderna announces step toward updating COVID shots for fall: “Moderna hopes to offer updated COVID-19 boosters in the fall that combine its original vaccine with protection against the omicron variant. On Tuesday, (4/19) it reported a preliminary hint that such an approach might work.” - AP
Florida judge voids US mask mandate for planes, other travel: “A federal judge in Florida struck down a national mask mandate on airplanes and mass transit Monday (4/18), and airlines and airports swiftly began repealing their requirements that passengers wear face coverings.” - AP
U.S. renews COVID-19 public health emergency: “The United States on Wednesday (4/13) renewed the COVID-19 public health emergency, allowing millions of Americans to keep getting free tests, vaccines and treatments for at least three more months.” - Reuters
FDA authorizes breath test that can detect COVID-19 in 3 minutes: “The FDA has granted emergency use authorization to a new COVID-19 test that can detect infections with only a sample of a patient’s breath, using a device that can yield results in less than three minutes.” - WINK News

CCMS to Host the 13th Annual Women’s Health Forum – “Good Health in Our Changing Times" this Saturday, April 23rd

As part of their ongoing initiative to connect residents and visitors with high quality healthcare in Southwest Florida, CCMS and the Foundation of CCMS are pleased to host the 13th Annual Women’s Health Forum, a free health education event, this Saturday, April 23rd.
The forum, with the theme “Good Health in Our Changing Times” will take place at Naples United Church of Christ, McSpadden Hall from 8:30am-1:00pm, and will feature breakout sessions with educational presentations on a wide spectrum of women’s health topics from 24 local physicians, an exhibit hall with vendors that offer services for women, and light refreshments. The Forum regularly draws approximately 400 women attendees.
Breakout session topics include: Breast Health, Cardiology, Vein Health, Healthy Vision, Bone Health, Caregiving, Dermatology & Cosmetics, Sleep Apnea, Pain Management, Mental Health, Cognitive Diseases, Urological Care, and more.
The Women’s Health Forum is made possible from the support of presenting sponsors Goodwin Medical Center and Magnolia Breast Center, and sponsors èBella Magazine; Hobdari Family Health; Physicians Regional Healthcare System; Radiology Regional; and Vein Specialists.
