June Collection Events

There are two recycling collection events taking place in June throughout Calhoun County. On June 13 in Athens, there will be a scrap tire collection, and on June 30 in Albion, there will be an electronics, scrap metal, and scrap tire collection. County offices work together to solve problems in our community. In the last two weeks, County offices have worked together to remove discarded tires on recently-foreclosed properties. Offices including Recycling, Land Bank, Treasurer, and Sheriff worked together to properly remove the tires. Read this article to learn more.

Construction recently began on a property in Marshall, Mich. to build a new attainable housing unit. The property was sold in late 2021 to Norfolk Homes and highlights how strategic local, state, and federal partnerships leads to revitalizing neighborhoods. Click for the press release.

Albion Public Health Office Closed June 23 – July 4

The Albion Clinic of the Public Health Department is moving to a new location. Beginning Tuesday, July 5, services will be offered at the Cram Building, which is located at 115 Market Place, and the current clinic will close on June 23. Learn more in the press release.
