The T.Mims Corp. Red White & Kaboom Independence Celebration will take place at Lake Mirror along the Frances Langford Promenade on Sunday, July 3 from 6 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. with Andrew Luv & the Franchise Players entertaining the crowd before a dazzling fireworks display launches at 9 p.m.

We ask all those attending to please bring a canned food item that will help those in need. All non-perishable items benefit Volunteers in Service to the Elderly (VISTE).

Lakeland Police Foundation establishes dedicated fund for the Lakeland Police Explorer Program and commits 50% of the 2022 Fallen Heroes Memorial 5K proceeds as the first donation.

Our Honor Guard Unit members were in Washington DC for National Police Week events. On Tuesday, May 17, they had the honor of placing a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery.

The 41st annual Lakeland Christmas Parade will be held on Thursday, December 1, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. The application period for the 2022 Christmas Parade is open until September 16, 2022. 

Promotion of Deputy City Manager
The City of Lakeland announces the promotion of Emily Colón as Deputy City Manager. City Manager Shawn Sherrouse said, “I am pleased to promote Mrs. Colón to the position of Deputy City Manager. Through her experiences, hard work and passion for learning, she has developed a tremendous skillset in the city management profession. Emily has already proven herself as an empathetic leader with a devotion to public service."

The City of Lakeland is pleased to announce the promotion of Jason Willey to Assistant Director of Economic Development. The position will report directly to Brian Rewis, Director of Community & Economic Development. Willey will continue to work with the City Manager on special projects as assigned.
