Get Ready to Stuff the Bus!

Stuff the Bus collects needed school supplies for students in Staunton City, Augusta County, and Waynesboro City Public Schools. Supplies are collected outside of the Staunton and Waynesboro Walmart and sorted based on the Free & Reduced Lunch percentages within each public school.

In 2022 over $77,000 worth of school supplies were donated to 30 schools.

Open Volunteer Shifts!

We have some critical volunteer shifts that need filling on Stuff the Bus weekend, August 4-6.

Staunton

August 5: 3-5pm, 5-7pm

August 6: 12-2pm, 2-4pm, 4-6pm

Waynesboro

August 5: 1-3pm, 3-5pm, 5-7pm

August 6: 12-2pm, 2-4pm, 4-6pm

Also, we are looking for delivery drivers on Monday, August 7th to help deliver the sorted school supplies around the SAW area. If you want to deliver school supplies, please contact Deirdre at deirdre@unitedwaysaw.org or 540-885-1229 ext. 2.

Earn the Golden Bus!

To encourage friendly competition between volunteer groups, we will be awarding the Golden Bus again.

Three awards will be presented:

• School with the highest percentage of staff participation

• Civic organization with the most volunteer hours

• Business/Organization with the most volunteer hours

Volunteers will be outside of the Staunton and Waynesboro Walmart collecting school supplies during Stuff the Bus weekend, August 4-6. However, you can get a head start on your shopping now!

Donations can be dropped off at the United Way Saw Office (24 Idlewood Blvd, Staunton) anytime before August 4th to be included in Stuff the Bus.

This list is a selection of suggested items. However, any school supply can be purchased from any retailer and donated to Stuff the Bus.
