Hi Beach Fam!
As your Associated Students, Inc. (ASI) president, I am thrilled to kick off this semester with all of you! And whether you’re new to campus or returning to your groove, we could all use a little refresher as we settle into the flow of this semester. So, let’s make this a successful semester and make the most of every opportunity during our time on campus.
ASI provides a wealth of FREE resources, programs, events and more to enhance everyone’s campus experience. But who do you think creates these vital changes? LBSU students are the foundation of our mission, and we cannot do it without each and every one of you. If you’re looking for a place to make significant change, then look no further than ASI Student Government! With the upcoming 2024-25 Student Government Elections, this is your perfect opportunity to be a part of something bigger while advocating for your peers. If you’re interested in effecting positive change, then apply today! Applications close Feb. 11.
If you’re also interested in getting involved with student orgs, then we have another perfect opportunity for you! Make this semester the best one yet when you get involved with student life at Week of Welcome! Join us Jan. 30 and Jan. 31 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Central Quad and Speaker’s Platform to connect and make new friends, discover FREE resources on campus and explore the variety of student organizations LBSU has to offer. But that’s not all! Show off your Beach Pride at ASI Night Feb. 3 at the Walter Pyramid as we cheer on our Men’s Basketball team as they play against University of California San Diego (UCSD). Doors open at 3:15 p.m.
Lastly, as we hit the ground running, these next few weeks offer the perfect opportunity to discover and explore which classes fit into your campus experience. However, I want to remind you all about the deadline if you need to change your courses, before it’s too late! Remember the deadline is Feb. 11 for students to use self-service to add or drop classes without a ‘W’ grade.
Let’s make this semester one for the books. Go Beach!
