Ana Moreno-Bellomy

Ana Bellomy

NEW IBERIA, La. --- The Bayou Teche Museum is pleased to announce that Ana Moreno-Bellomy has been appointed as the museum's new Executive Director.

The Bayou Teche Museum’s board appointed Ana to replace Marcia Patout who served as director for the past 11 years. Working as director will be new ground for Ana who worked as a Global Events Project Manager in the fast paced, high-tech industry and most recently as administrative assistant at the Museum. Ana brings a wealth of administrative experience and managerial knowledge.

Ana holds both Business Administration and Marketing Degrees and has a track record of delivering exceptional results in previous leadership roles. Her commitment to fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment aligns with the Museum’s values and culture.

“We are thrilled to welcome Ana to this new role in our museum,” said Larry Hensgens, Bayou Teche Museum Board President. “We are confident that her skills will be an asset to the museum’s growth, and we are confident that together, we will achieve remarkable milestones and create new opportunities for the museum.”

In her new role, Ana will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day functions of the museum as well as being the point person for the annual Gala and other Museum activities. Ana was already a part of the Museum staff and was excited to take on this new role.

The Bayou Teche Museum Board of Directors looks forward to working with Ana and continuing to contribute to the museum’s growth and success.

About Bayou Teche Museum:

The Museum’s mission is to preserve the historic treasures of the Bayou Teche Region, to increase awareness in the community by educating and informing all residents of the rich heritage, customs and traditions of their forefathers who settled and inhabited this land, and to provide research and archival services and a community gathering space.

The state-of-the-art museum with a permanent collection of artifacts and memorabilia from the region tells the story of a growing city, its people, culture and industry all centered around the "snake-like" curves of the Bayou Teche. The museum is home to George Rodrigue’s studio, which includes the painting he was working on before his 2013 death.

Media and industry professionals interested in learning more about Ana Moreno-Bellomy or scheduling an interview are encouraged to contact her via email or by phone at (337) 606-5977.
