Happy July, Neighbor!
Hi neighbor,

I hope your July has been filled with time with friends and family. This summer is flying by because of all the fun we've been having in District 6 with events such as Shakespeare in the Park, Music in the Glen, Longevity Walks, and movie and music nights.

I'd like to thank everyone who joined my office at our July Longevity Walk from City Hall to Roy's Station Coffee & Tea in Japantown. My team loved meeting more residents and improving our physical and mental health together through brisk exercise and socializing. Walking as a group is an efficient way to stay active while getting to know the people and places that make up our beautiful city!
Each month, our walking group has grown and I am thrilled with the progress that we have made. It brings me great joy to see more and more San Jose residents wanting to achieve longer, better lives together.

Please join me on our fifth Longevity Walk on Wednesday, August 9th when we walk from City Hall to Backesto Park.

Please check out all of the exciting summer events that are included in this newsletter. There are plenty of opportunities for us to appreciate our local parks with free music and movies. My team and I will be attending many of these events and I look forward to seeing you there!
Best,

Dev

Walk Safe San Jose

Walk Safe San Jose is a pedestrian safety plan that encourages walking, biking, and taking public transit. The goal is to improve pedestrian safety by providing safe routes for vulnerable road users.

Some goals are to reduce and eventually eliminate traffic deaths and severe injuries, focus on corridor based projects like paint, cones, flexible barriers and signage.

Please take the survey to notify the City of some of the safer walking routes in San Jose. This will inform people in San Jose's inner neighborhoods on some safe and healthy ways to go on walks!
