Invasive Plant Removal (Main St. Park)

Invasive plant removal at Main Street Park will be continued starting this Friday, October 13th. The company will be working on site in the wooded areas of the park on the following days: October 13, 17, 19, 20, 24 and 30. When invasive plants are cut down, their stumps will be treated with an herbicide. The applicator may be wearing a Tyvek suit and mask during applications. On October 17, 19 and 20 a chipper will be on site on the trails close to Sanford Creek Elementary. Please stay on the walking trails on these days that work is occurring. If the trail is blocked off, please do not try to walk through.

A planner's job is to work with residents and elected officials to guide the layout of an entire community or region. Planners take a broad view and look at how the pieces of a community; buildings, roads, and parks fit together like pieces of a puzzle. Planners then make recommendations on how the community should proceed.

Fire safety education isn’t just for school children. Teenagers, adults, and the elderly are also at risk in fires, making it important for every member of the community to take some time every October to make sure they understand how to stay safe in case of a fire.
