Easter is many things: a celebration of new life arising from death, a timeless festival of the earth and fertility, and the holiest day in the Christian year. Easter is also a confusing holiday – perhaps especially for those of us who’ve given up on Bible stories. But when we celebrate together, there is wisdom to sustain us all.
This year’s Easter service will be a joyous multigenerational celebration – filled with music, stories, beauty, and joy for all ages. Plus, an Easter egg hunt after the service! Everyone will start and end together in the Sanctuary – in the middle, children and their adult leaders will go down to the Community Room to make some beauty happen.
To make our Meeting House as safe as possible, we ask that everyone who is 5 and older be vaccinated, and those 2 and older wear a mask while inside. Seating in the Sanctuary has been adjusted for safe distancing, and the ventilation system can accommodate at least 100 people.
All are welcome to Outdoor Coffee Hour at 11 a.m. in front of the Meeting House, and Zoom Coffee Hour at 11:15 a.m. at this link: bit.ly/3j4RxJ9.
Easter Sunday for Children!
Erika Reif, Director of Lifespan Faith Development
Children are invited to help tell the story this Sunday during our multigenerational worship service - part of that will involve donning some rabbit ears at the front of the Sanctuary and hopping about with Erika and part will involve coming downstairs for fun and creativity before returning to complete the story. Please RSVP for your whole family and sit down together in the pews (this is different than the last couple weeks!) If children are new to us, please send a caretaker downstairs with them to share contact info.
While in the Sanctuary, check out the fidget bins at the front and rear, filled with coloring pages, stuffed friends, and small fidget toys, all there to make listening easier for people of any age.
Easter Egg Hunt
Erika Reif, Director of Lifespan Faith Development
Sunday, April 17 - Approx. 11:15 a.m.
Fifteen minutes after the service ends, the Egg Hunt begins! Kids of all ages should join us at the gates to the Memorial Garden on the west lawn to collect trinket-filled eggs. (We don’t use candy.) We have plenty of eggs for any child who wants to join, so feel free to invite some friends! Coffee, tea and snacks will be available at Outdoor Coffee Hour.

The Committee on Temporary Shelter COTS Walk 2022 fundraiser is once again in person. Join Team FUUSB to raise money for a great organization and walk together on May 1. The walk starts and ends in Battery Park. Check-in is at 1 p.m. and the walk starts at 2 p.m. The walk is 3.6 miles and there is a shorter option that is about half that distance. Join the team, do some light fundraising, and take a walk on a beautiful spring day. Daunted by fundraising? Remember it doesn't matter if you raise a little or a lot. Any amount you raise will contribute to our team total and will help COTS provide their essential services to unhoused people in the greater Burlington area. And I'll help you get started.
