Construction Update
Exit 16 DDI
DATE: Friday, July 28, 2023

TRAFFIC IMPACT AND DURATION:
Sunday, July 30, through Thursday, August 3, during nighttime hours, 7:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m., U.S. 2/7 between Mountain View Drive and South Park Drive will be under northbound lane closures to facilitate duct bank and stormwater infrastructure installation. At least one travel lane will remain open in each direction during the nighttime hours. Side street access will be maintained throughout this work. Motorists are strongly encouraged to use caution while driving through the work zone and pay close attention to signage as traffic patterns will change. Later in the week, there is the potential for minor traffic impacts along Lower Mountain View Drive to facilitate water tie-ins.

Monday, July 31, through Friday, August 4, during the daytime hours, 6:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., work will continue along U.S. 2/7 throughout the project area under lane closures. Only a single travel lane will be closed in each direction during the daytime hours. Intermittent northbound lane closures along U.S. 2/7 between Mountain View Drive and South Park Drive will be in effect throughout the daytime hours to facilitate the paving of sections of the roadway disturbed during overnight work. The outermost southbound lane along U.S. 2/7 between the I-89 ramps will be closed to facilitate retaining wall installation along the west side of U.S. 2/7.

All users should expect delays and plan ahead.
CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES:
Next week, during nighttime hours, crews will continue to install duct bank and stormwater infrastructure along U.S. 2/7 between Mountain View Drive and South Park Drive. Throughout the week, crews will be continuing to install duct bank starting near the Interstate 89 (I-89) southbound ramps and working south towards South Park Drive. Midweek, crews will be installing stormwater infrastructure near the I-89 northbound off-ramp. This work will require lane closures along U.S. 2/7. Late next week, there is the potential for crews to begin water tie-ins on Lower Mountain View Drive with minor impacts to traffic. Water tie-in work will require a short water service disruption. All affected property owners and tenants will be notified by a member of the Project Team.
Next week, during daytime hours, crews will continue to pave sections of disturbed roadway along U.S. 2/7 and construct the western retaining wall that will run along the west side of U.S. 2/7 outside of the I-89 bridge piers under lane closures
Crews continue constructing the retaining wall along the west side of U.S. 2/7 to allow for future pedestrian and bicycle facilities.
Crews continue installing duct bank along U.S. 2/7.
