Greetings!

We're on the move again!!! We will be celebrating masses for the rest of the summer...
IN THE ORIGINAL CHURCH SPACE in the
BASEMENT OF THE SCHOOL!

Just when everyone was SO great about moving to the gymnasium for summer masses, the air conditioning in our Activity Center went out. Even with Fr Mark and his prayer warriors praying to St Jude all week, there's no quick fix in sight on this 30 year old unit so we're on the move to a spot where we can provide you with AIR CONDITIONING and a bit of ST PAUL TRADITION in the Original Church location in the basement of the school.

Starting THIS SATURDAY, June 18, all weekend masses will be in the SCHOOL BASEMENT with 2 entrances on the South and South West sides of the school, marked with BLUE ARROWS below. The Handicapped Accessible entrances are marked in MAROON ARROWS. Please enter into the gym atrium where we have been coming in these past 2 weekends to access the elevator to the basement. Both the South and North parking lots will have extra handicapped parking spots available.
We VERY MUCH appreciate everyone's patience and understanding with this necessary move from "Jesus in the Gym" to "Blessings in the Basement!" Please let us know how we can best serve you and make this most comfortable. The team has begun to move the chairs and altar down this morning and it feels very nostalgic even to us who never had the opportunity to worship down in that space before. You can really sense the history in the room.

As for a quick update on the Renovation, Jim Roolf has let us know that the asbestos removal is going according to schedule and all is good with this stage.
Have a beautiful week and please let the parish office know if there is anything we can do for you. God bless ~

Extreme Makeover : Church Edition

Week 2 Renovation! Perhaps not very 'exciting' but certainly super important is that our Asbestos Abatement has begun! We're officially locked out of the church for the next 3 weeks while the asbestos is cleared from under all tile and carpet. (Testing revealed there is no asbestos in the ceiling tiles in the sacristy, confessionals, narthex areas.) The team let me grab some photos before the doors were locked. The night before, Fr Mark took some incredible photos with the setting sun illuminating our windows! Many of our flowers are in bloom and the gym is ready to celebrate the Trinity at masses this weekend. With the large mass attendances last weekend, we've added more seating and addressed every request!
Due to the unforseen situation, the Paulites have decided to cancel June's meeting.
If you have paid already you can contact the parish office and let us know if you would like to roll it over to the next meeting or if you would like it returned.
Thank you for your understanding.
Save the Date!

Our 2nd Annual St Paul Feast Day Celebration is
Wednesday, June 29th.

Weather permitting we will celebrate this memorable evening with Mass on the Grass, a tasty BBQ and a couple of fun surprises.
Who's going to win the Trophy this year?!?!

It's BYOC (Bring Your Own Chair if you can.)

We ask that you please RSVP to the parish office at 815-725-1527 or parishoffice@stpauljoliet.com so there is enough food for a great evening. If you'd like to bring your favorite dessert to share, we'd all LOVE that!

Life's Short~ Eat Dessert First!
Confessions started in the parish office on Saturday, June 11th.
As in the church, this peaceful and holy time will still be offered at 8:30am hosted by our lovely Hospitality Ministers, with Fr Mark hearing confessions either Face-to-Face or Private.

*Confessions will end 15 minutes early on June 18th*

Come experience the release and joy this precious sacrament offers to us.
